Studio Log 07/28

//50 DAYS TILL OPENING

Today started with some serious doubts around the solo show. Is the direction i’m headed in the ideal one? Is this just mid-build jitters?

I spent most of the day in the studio figuring how I’m going to clamp the columns down into the deck blocks - moving away from concrete pours to allow for installing the sensor box within the deck block cavity.
Surprisingly it seemed to work, which meant i started researching other methods to adhere to column and for now i’m leaning towards concrete epoxy to glue down the column then use a 3d printed cap to hold the columns steady.

I started modeling that cap in blender and of course it took me way longer than it should have. In addition I missed up the first print so i only did the final print by midnight.

I was researching my spatial audio speaker array after. I’m inclined to move away from active towards passive, if nothing to reduce the power outlet requirements. I’m already running high on that. I think after my research i’m leaning towards 2 channel amps and getting 3/4 of them, along with passive speakers.

For some reason thinking about these also opened up the visual look and how I can clamp them in keeping with the rest of the structural design.

I did a budget analysis before bed and I would need close to 2k to finish this install. Working out the hows.

Overall I moved the needle a bit more and rewarded myself with some xian famous foods
