COMMUNION is an interactive sound installation created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns. It imagines a post-COVID world where reconnecting with nature is a reverential practice rooted in child-like curiosity. In this space, viewers are encouraged to touch and explore the plants, with each interaction converted into music in real-time. The sounds are designed to reflect the plant's character and its intuitive response to human touch, inviting a communion that feels both otherworldly and deeply familiar.

“One of the standout interactive works at the festival is COMMUNION, a deeply reflective installation created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the isolation it caused.”

Currently developing new iterations of Communion — building the installation into individual planters that communicate with each other over distance, establishing an even deeper communion through the ether.
